Different Plant Container Sizes

4 Pack –

Smaller Soil Volume

            Less Expensive

            Younger Plants

Takes longer to fill in a flowerbed.  (Offset by planting more plants to fill in an area)

6 Pack –

            Larger Soil Volume

            More Expensive

Plants typically about the same age as the 4 Pack, can be a week older

More soil volume allows the plant to get a little larger

Slightly larger plants will fill in the flowerbed quicker

#4 –

More soil per plant than packs

            More expensive per plant

Plants are 2 to 4 weeks older than packs

Larger plants will fill in the flowerbed quicker

#6 –

            A lot more soil volume

            More expensive per pot

Plants are 2 to 4 weeks older than the # 4

Larger plants will fill in the flowerbed faster

#10 –

A fast way to get instant gratification

            ‘Plant and Enjoy’ sized plant

Looks like it has been planted for months

            More expensive

Sometimes plants only come in one size container.  That is usually because the plant does the best in that size (too vigorous to grow in a smaller sized container).
