Ornamental Cabbage

Varieties and Colors: Dynasty Red, Dynasty White

Sizes: #6, #8

Description: Ornamental cabbage and kale thrive in the cool temperatures of fall and winter, but they do not like the summer heat. These showy plants have exceptional cold hardiness and can survive temperatures as low as 5 degrees if acclimated gradually. That means that you can have color in your garden all winter long. One note of identification is kale has fancier, more ruffled foliage and ornamental cabbage has rounder, more even foliage.

Recommended Spacing: Plant 18″ apart.

Height: Grows 10″ to 15″ tall.

How to Grow: Plant in sun or part sun.

Outstanding Features: Excellent cold hardiness will add color all winter long.

Tips: Cabbage and Kale like moist, well-drained soil.

Recommended Uses: Garden Bed, Containers, Borders, Landscapes

I’m looking for seed for a tri-color ornamental cabbage. I’ve seen but don’t know the correct name. I have a picture if you don’t know what I’m looking for.

    Thanks,
    Sheryl

    Sheryl,

I am not familiar with the tri-color ornamental cabbage. You can send a picture but I am not sure that we can help you find any. Thanks for contacting us.

    Best,

    Jason

  • It's always disappointing finding a houseplant that you love, but know won't grow in your cozy bedroom. Many interesting plants can be grown indoors but usually ones that bloom, display bright colors, or produce fruit can need a lot of sun. Thankfully, plenty don't.
